Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve is a great place to visit for the whole family (just be careful with kids around the gorge).
I recently took a visit to the gorge in a lovely sunny day, there is parking right outside the main entrance of the gorge with disabled parking as well.
There are two different routes you can take from the main entrance of the gorge walk, on the left the longer route which is nice and you can see a view point from west side of the gorge or the more direct route on the right.
I decided to take the more direct route as i was short on time
After crossing the bridge you can walk down to viewing point which takes you out over the gorge, this is where you can get a good view of the waterfall. The viewing point itself is pretty hard to setup a tripod as its not a solid floor, you can see from the slideshow below, my tripod feet were falling through the holes on the floor.
Information
It’s a dizzying and exhilarating experience to look down on the torrent of water plunging 46m (150ft) over the Falls of Measach from the gently swaying suspension bridge. Corrieshalloch Gorge is one of the natural wonders of the Highlands and not to be missed, especially after periods of rain.
The river here has carved a spectacular mile-long box canyon through hard metamorphic rock and the suspension bridge, built in 1874 to a design by John Fowler, offers the best view of it. Fowler later went on to collaborate on another Scottish landmark, the Forth Railway Bridge.
Care should be taken not to approach the gorge edge except where indicated.
How to get there
Corrieshalloch Gorge is on the A835 at Braemore, 12m miles south east of Ullapool, on the Ullapool to Inverness Road. Take the turn off at braemore junction heading for Gairloch.

, I’m not the best when it comes to height, in fact I’m pretty much terrified of heights but i thought this and managed to setup my tripod and camera on the bridge to take a couple of shots. To be honest I thought the bridge was fine, once you get to the middle it does swing a bit from side to side so if you are a bit iffy with heights make sure you hold the banister to give you that bit of support.
