• Am Pollan Park

Am Pollan was created in 1970 by pupils of Ullapool Secondary School under the then headmaster, the late John Buchanan. The plaque in the park recognises that the project received a Dulverton Award in 1970. Acknowledgement is also made on the plaque of the Scottish Civic Trust and the Crofters Commission. It was an excellent piece of work by the then school pupils. The park has recently had a lot of work carried out to it to enhance Am Pollan as an attractive public open space and will include a new stone boundary wall, a promenade style path with railings, up-grading of steps as well as new entrance gates and seating.

      Information about the park refurbishment.

A sum of £44,000 has been allocated in the Planning and Development programme towards implementing the project and it is also being part financed by the Scottish Government and European Community Leader 2007-2013 programme providing an overall project budget of £80,000.
