• 3,000 Funding Boost from RBS

A WESTER Ross community devastated by the enforced closure of its swimming pool has been buoyed this week after a £3,000 funding boost. The Ullaspool "Raise the Roof" campaign has this week been awarded a £3,000 cash donation from RBS thanks to the enthusiastic voting campaign by local residents.
The charity is aiming to raise money for repairs to Ullaspool, which is a community owned 25-metre swimming pool in Ullapool, currently closed due to structural damage to the roof.
The swimming pool provides facilities for over 3,000 people in the area, including two high schools, eight primary schools as well as the delivery of Scottish swimming lessons.
In July, following the launch of the Customer Charter, RBS and NatWest announced details of a new Community Fund to support local charities and projects, and invited customers and local people to decide who should benefit from this new community initiative.
