Leckmelm gardens are a short drive about 3 miles south of Ullapool. The entrance is very inviting with a lovely brick wall (some might find the entrance and exit arch a bit tight), there is parking for cars but not suitable for coaches. There are no toilets at the gardens so make sure you go before you go ;-). Dogs are allowed but have to be kept on a lead. If you are in to your flowers and plants there is a good review which can be found here.

Rhue is a very short drive or walk 2.5 miles north on the A835. Once you take the turn off the A835 it goes to single track (there is a fair bit of loose gravel motorcycles watch the middle of the road) where it twists and bends until you get to the point where there is small parking space where you can enjoy the view.

Lael is a large forest which is a great way for the whole family to relax and spend part of your day walking through this magical forest.

Lael is a large forest which was first planted with trees during the 1930's and 1940's. Much of the woodland is now in its second rotation, i.e. the original trees have been felled and new trees planted in their place. During replanting, many more broadleaved trees such as oak, birch and rowan have been introduced to improve the habitat and diversity of the forest. The main access path which leads up to Beinn Dearg and its neighbouring mountains runs through part of Lael Forest and is very popular with hill walkers. Follow red waymarkers or Green waymarkers for walks of 1 hour

Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve is a great place to visit for the whole family (just be careful with kids around the gorge).

I recently took a visit to the gorge in a lovely sunny day, there is parking right outside the main entrance of the gorge with disabled parking as well.

There are two different routes you can take from the main entrance of the gorge walk, on the left the longer route which is nice and you can see a view point from west side of the gorge or the more direct route on the right.
