Motorcycling, in my opinion the best way to travel and definitely the best way to see/tour the Scottish Highlands. The Scottish Highlands appeal to many bikers including myself, the Scottish Highlands offer some great twisty roads with some of the best scenery in the UK.

Dependant on where you are travelling from will depend on what route you take to tour the Scottish Highlands however it is my personal opinion that the West Coast offers better roads and better scenery.

Ullapool Golf Course. This is a very picturesque nine-hole course with a touch of links and moorland to it. It was opened in 1998 by Prince Andrew and has since gone from strength to strength. With great views of the Loch Broom and the Summer Isle it meanders down to the shores of Loch Broom.

Situated on the northern border of Ullapool, a highland village with a long heritage, the golf course offers outstanding views of Lochbroom and the Summer Isles beyond. We are within walking distance of the village and our club house offers changing facilities and refreshments if required.

Ullapool offers Flyfishing, bait fishing, bank or boat, salmon, trout, rainbows, Loch or Sea. Ullapool is ideal for amateurs and experts. You can purchase fishing permits for many lochs around the Ullapool Area. These can be purchased at local shops in the village. At present there is no organised sea fishing from Ullapool Harbour. A short drive north of Ullapool there is Boat Hire for Sea fishers at Ardmair caravan park. Ullapool, lying on loch Broom at the mouth of the Ullapool River, is one the the main fishing ports and tourist centres of Wester Ross and makes an ideal centre for the trout fisherman, with many small lochs to be explored in the hills to the north, west and south.

Cul Beag is the first mountain that overlooks the minor road to Achiltibuie. It is not as high as its neighbour Cul Mor and does not posess the same degree of individuality that characterises other mountains in the region. We have viewed the steeper western crags from Stac Pollaidh but have not ventured up the slopes.

Ben Mor Coigach. This mountain is first seen from the road north of Ullapool as a long high ridge forming an impressive backdrop to Ardmair Bay. The western end of the ridge falls steeply into the sea near Culnacraig with the crest running at 700m for 3 km to the pointed top of Speicin Coinnich. The mountain continues for a further 5 km eastwards as a series of heathery slopes running towards the road junction at Drumrunie. ...

An Teallach is rated as one of the classic mountains on the west coast of Scotland and offers a full and challenging day out for those who wish to explore its summits. The central ridge encompasses six main tops all over 950m in height (more if you include the intermediate ones on the south ridge) with two more outliers on the northern sides at the 800m level. ...
